Literal
(a) I, Sonakshi Sagar, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
(b) For my Independent Study, it was a two part process. The first part consisted of me actually becoming an official SCCA umpire. To accomplish this I had to study and take a test of 65 questions that were about the rules and regulations of cricket. This was done through the ICC fly emirates umpiring. For the second part of my study, I umpired SCCA division games. I also umpired youth club games. I umpired the D4 v D5 game at woodley park, D2 v D4, D1 v D4, D1 v D5, D2 v D5, all the division games were held a woodley park, and I umpired a youth game which was Citrus Valley v Irvine Specs at a park in Irvine, Citrus Valley v San Jose in Fontana, Cirtus Valley v Cougars in Fontana.
Interpretive
I had to study for the test for a total of 4 hours, the test took 1 and half hours and I umpired a total of 8 games and for each game it took anywhere between two to four hours, because a umpire has to examine the pitch prior to the game and do the toss. The games took me a total of 25 and half hours hours to umpire. Which makes a total of 31 hours completed for my Independent task.
Applied
It helped answer my EQ because, by umpiring the games I was able to see cricket from a whole other prospective. I was able to see both sides of the story and notice what each player needed in order to show there best of abilities. It was a whole different aspect of playing on the field to umpiring the game. For example, one of my answers, maintaining balance while preforming complex techniques, formed completely from the independent task, because I was able to see exactly how losing your balance while bating can affect you to get out.
